About Being Yoga & Zonterapi

May you live like a lotus,

at ease in the muddy water

I enjoy walking, camping and being out in nature; enjoying beautiful Hälsingland!

I love to cook and bake.

About me

I am Charlotte. Born in England, I moved to Hälsingland, Sweden in 2020 where I run Being Yoga and Zonterpi, a place for yoga, meditation, treatments and community.

For me, yoga and mindfulness are not cures, rather they are tools we can use to navigate the unknown waters of life. Whether we suffer from pain, stress or simply want to unwind, the tools can help us to find balance. When in balance, we can breathe more deeply, suffer less from turbulent emotions, relations with our world are easier, with more space to enjoy life!

Before coming to Sweden I worked in the UK National Health Service as a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist. I think I have always loved working with people and bring the qualities of motivating, empathy and compassion to  Being Yoga & Zonterapi.

There is strength in softness.

My favourite thing about teaching yoga and offering treatments is seeing people feeling good and practice yoga in their own body.

I look to teach you who arrives, no experience is required, only willingness to participate.

No question is silly, feel free to ask me!

Why Yoga and Reflexology?

I was searching for something I suppose, for relief from my suffering. I was a teenager with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), in pain, with feelings of shame and aloneness. It’s hard enough being a teenager, with the body worries that come along with that, adding chronic illness, it felt hard.

Anxiety has also been my shadow. Yoga and meditation has helped me to understand myself better, accept my body and mind (on-going!) and has given me support with insomnia and fatigue. Pain medications are a trigger to IBD symptoms for me so I embraced reflexology and aromatherapy to help.

Like Yin and Yang, I believe in a world that is round and whole, eastern and western medicine can work together in harmony, to support us.

When I found yoga it was like a light went on in my life. A way to relax and recover in body & mind against the stresses of a busy world.

I feel grateful it is a part of my life.

I love that wherever I go,

the tools are within me.
